OXYGEN ACTIVEPLAY GROWS PORTFOLIO WITH 5 NEW PARKS

Oxygen Activeplay has acquired 5 Ninja Warrior UK® Adventure Parks, increasing its portfolio to 18 parks across England

Today, Oxygen Activeplay has announced the acquisition of Leisure Television Rights Ltd and their portfolio of 5 Ninja Warrior UK® Adventure Parks, increasing the group’s portfolio to 18 parks.

Located in Bristol, Leeds, Liverpool, Teesside and Walsall, the Ninja Warrior UK Adventure Parks sites combine challenge-based fun with fitness, with activities inspired by ITV’s hit TV show of the same name.

The addition of the Ninja Warrior UK brand, managed by ITV Studios in the UK on behalf of Tokyo Broadcasting System Television, will bring together two of the UK’s most recognised brands in family-focused indoor leisure, both aimed at delivering high quality experiences with a focus on encouraging health and wellbeing through active play.

Oxygen will be adding Ninja Warrior UK Adventure Parks to their portfolio of activity parks & brands which includes 10 Oxygen Activeplay parks, Boost Leicester and RedKangaroo parks in Nottingham and Coventry.

The growth of the Oxygen portfolio follows a strong trading period with record-breaking summer sales, achieving a 30% YoY growth in visitors, the opening of a new park at Manchester’s MediaCity and a string of successful acquisitions. The brand has previously acquired 5 brands; RedKangaroo, Base Jump, Boost, Jump Capital, and Jump Evolution.

The acquisition is part of Oxygen’s long-term growth plan. Since its acquisition by Literacy Capital in 2021 the group has expanded through both strategic acquisitions and new park developments to create a diverse portfolio of Activeplay destinations across the UK.

Oxygen’s rapid but considered growth reflects the demand for active, experience-led family leisure concepts. With the new activity parks providing complementary experiences to Oxygen’s existing trampoline-focused venues, the brand is continuing to innovate with new, customer-focused concepts that go beyond equipment.

Stephen Wilson, CEO at Oxygen Activeplay, said: “This latest acquisition is a major step forward in Oxygen’s goal to redefine the indoor leisure sector in the UK. Ninja Warrior UK Adventure Parks is a well-known and loved brand across the country and perfectly complements our ethos of creating fun and inclusive experiences for families that encourage staying active through play.

We’re thrilled to welcome five Ninja Warrior UK Adventure parks and their incredible teams into the Oxygen family. This marks not just an expansion of our footprint, but a deepening of our commitment to bring Activeplay to even more communities across the UK. Together, we’re combining the strength of the Ninja Warrior UK brand with Oxygen’s proven, people-led customer experience focused operating models.”

Lou Black, SVP, Brand Licensing, ITV Studios said, “We’re thrilled to be partnering with Oxygen as the new operator of five Ninja Warrior UK Adventure Parks sites. Their reputation for delivering dynamic, people-focused experiences makes them a perfect fit for the brand and will help us take the experience to the next level, creating more immersive, connected adventures for fans of all ages.”

Ninja Warrior UK is a registered trademark of Tokyo Broadcasting System Television.
